21st Europe publishes blueprints to spark conversations and inspire optimism for the continent's next chapter. We designed the first blueprint, bringing their vision for a high-speed future to life.

Starting point
21st Europe was founded by Kaave Pour, former head of SPACE10. Driven by a belief that vision is the first step toward change, 21st Europe is dedicated to releasing quarterly blueprints with design partners and expert panels. Each blueprint tackles a key issue, beginning with bold, tangible visions before working backward to explore how they can be made real. BB was invited to be the design partner on the first blueprint, which focuses on a more connected Europe: blue high-speed trains gliding effortlessly across borders, transforming a patchwork of national lines into a single, unified railway experience called Starline.
Outcome
Starting out with eight scenes covering border stations, waiting terminals, and human activity, we narrowed our focus to get our points across. Working closely with Culte Common on the CG assets, we dedicated most of our time to the design of the exterior and interior of the train, while showing traces of its immediate context like stations or scenic landscapes. We designed graphic elements like the logo, map, and ticketing to convey the seamlessness of the digital experience. As part of the launch, we gave a talk at Elisava design school on the history of graphic design in relation to European train lines, and co-hosted an event at our Barcelona office.
